White, who was the 16th pick in the 2012 NBA draft, was an instant force for the Lightning, putting up averages of 21 points, 1o rebounds and nearly 6 assists per game.  The 6’8 forward broke the league total for career triple-doubles in his first season alone, with a total of 5.  As one of London’s 6 protected players, White is the first player signed this off-season for the team.

The signing comes as a surprise to some as USBasket.com broke early in the month that White was in heavy talks with Italian Club Pallacanestro Alma Trieste of the Series A2 league in Italy.  Despite reports of having other offers in the NBA Summer League, NBA G-League and overseas (via LFPress), White has decided to return to London where he’s enjoyed the most success on and off the court.
